Airport Information

Lexington has its own airport, Blue Grass Airport (LEX), although costs can at times be significantly higher than at surrounding airports. We recommend pricing flights to Blue Grass Airport (LEX), Louisville International Airport (SDF), and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

However, please note that both Louisville and Cincinnati are about 1.5 hours away (approximately 80 miles) by car and there are no public transportation or shuttle options to get to Lexington.

Transportation

In-Town
For in-town public bus transportation, visit Lextran. Lextran costs $1 per ride. Additionally, participants may use Uber or Lyft to get around town. Expect to pay approximately $8-$15 per ride for locations within 2 miles and depending on the time of day (early mornings and evenings are the most expensive as well as during inclement weather, especially rain).

On Campus
Campus shuttles are provided free of charge to UK students, employees and visitors. All areas of campus are less than a 5-minute walk from a bus stop with buses arriving every 7-10 minutes. Please note that campus shuttles run only during weekdays. You can track shuttles in real time here. The TransLoc Rider mobile app is also available for download from the Google Play Store and App Store. For campus parking and all other campus related transportation services, visit their website here.

Parking
If you wish to use the parking garage during the conference, you will have the option of purchasing a pass for $10 during registration. For other options and additional information about visitor parking, please visit the UK Transportation and the LFCPA websites.
